Apologies in advance for your credit card bill: The Dyson Airwrap Complete Styler, aka the most coveted beauty tool in the history of all beauty tools, is getting an upgrade — and it's finally dropping today. I know, I know. It's a lot, so take a deep breath with me.
Hitting shelves today (!!), Dyson announced earlier in the spring that the next generation of the styler features the same classic technology but with new attachments to simplify the styling process for all hair types. It's also getting a new name: Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler.

What does the new Dyson Airwrap include?
New Airwrap curling barrels: For the biggest and best change, the new Airwrap curling barrels will allow you to switch airflow direction as you style your hair. Yes, this means you no longer have to swap attachments for the left and right sides of your head. The five included barrels come in the standard length 30 millimeters, the long length 30 millimeters, the standard length 40 millimeters, the long length 40 millimeters and the long length 20 millimeters.
Coanda smoothing dryer: The upgraded drying attachment is a combination of the original Airwrap rough dry attachment and the brand's new Flyaway attachment that Dyson first introduced with its Supersonic Hair Dryer. You'll be able to take your hair from wet to damp in pre-style mode and then finish your look by hiding flyaways in smoothing mode.
Firm and soft brushes: Instead of just two brushes, the set will include four. You'll get the original soft and firm brushes as well as two smaller models.
Wide-tooth comb: Meant for curly and coily hair, the wide-tooth comb has robust teeth to help lengthen hair as it dries, or create volume and shape to your style.
Volumizing brushes: Just like with the soft and firm brushes, the volumizing brush will now come in a smaller size as well for more precise styling.
Do I need to buy the new Dyson Airwrap if I already have the original one?
Great question! If you already bought the first generation Airwrap, don't stress. All of the upgraded attachments that come with the Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler are compatible with the original Dyson Airwrap Complete Styler. This means you can buy the newer attachments individually.
They'll cost you the same as the current model's attachments at $39.99 each, and you can shop them all here! So, if you want the new attachments, like the single-direction curling barrels or the new dryers, it will cost you a couple of hundred dollars to upgrade. Still, that's a hell of a lot less money than buying a whole new Airwrap.
Meanwhile, you can shop attachments for the current model of the Dyson Airwrap right here.
When can I buy the new Dyson Airwrap?
You can grab the new Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler directly from Dyson both online and IRL as well as select retailers like Nordstrom, Best Buy, Sephora, Blue Mercury and Ulta. It's expected to sell out super fast though, so I would hop on it!

If you're still into the original Airwrap, you can find it at certain retailers like Best Buy. Plus, the Dyson Outlet offers expertly refurbished versions of the Airwrap for a discounted price. While retailers have been slowly phasing out their stock of the Dyson Airwrap Complete Styler, it's often restocked without any notice.
