Elizabeth Hurley wows in sheer gown days after turning 56: 'Goddess'
Elizabeth Hurley may be the queen of bikini shoots, but she doesn't need a two-piece to cause a stir.
After marking her 56th birthday on June 10 in a crop top and denim shorts, the English actress turned to a special label as she kept the celebrations going: Versace, the house responsible for her iconic black safety pin dress worn to the 1994 premiere of then-boyfriend Hugh Grant's film, Four Weddings and a Funeral.
The dress that skyrocketed Hurley to stardom relied heavily on strategically placed safety pins offering generous flashes of skin. Nearly 30 years later, that same idea is in effect with the vintage floor-length gown the star wore for her birthday celebrations. The dress features curved panels of pale yellow silk placed alongside sheer panels that reveal much of Hurley's famously toned figure, including part of her right breast.
Unsurprisingly, Hurley's look — accented with a diamond pendant necklace and long brunette waves — won rave reviews on Instagram, including from Donatella Versace, who took over the fashion house after the 1997 murder of her brother Gianni.
"Gorgeous, vintage Versace," the fashion designer responded. "You look beautiful."
Hurley also got the approval of designers Christoper Kane and Giles Deacon, while countless fans called the dress "stunning" and hailed the star as a "goddess."
