Elon Musk Hints That His Fight With Mark Zuckerberg Will Indeed Go Down at Rome's Ancient Colosseum

It's looking like the epic cage match between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg will take place at the nearly 2,000-year-old Colosseum in Rome, after all.

On Friday, the 52-year-old SpaceX founder hinted on the platform formerly known as Twitter that he has been in touch with officials in Italy ahead off the upcoming fight.

"The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations—not UFC," Musk wrote. "Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all."

He added that he has spoken with the Prime Minister and Minister of Culture of Italy that they have agreed on an "epic" location.

In a pair of follow-up tweets, Musk wrote that "everything done will pay respect to the past and present of Italy" and that all proceeds will go to veterans.

Musk's comments come just days after UFC president Dana White gave a similar update on Mike Tyson's Hotboxin podcast—though, if Musk is to be believed, White will no longer be involved.

"I actually did have a meeting with the Minister of Culture's team in Italy to actually hold that fight in the Colosseum if it would happen," White said, according to TMZ. "We're talking."

It was first reported back in June that the Colosseum was on the table as a possible location for the fight, which Musk later confirmed on his $44 billion platform. Zuckerberg has yet to comment on Musk's latest claims, but it remains to be seen when the fight will actually go down.

On Sunday, Musk gave an update that the exact date of the fight was "in flux," and that he was getting an MRI of his neck and upper back the following day for a medical issue that may require surgery before the fight could happen. At the time, he was responding to a claim from Zuckerberg that he had suggested the date of Aug. 26 when first challenged, but Musk hadn't confirmed.

As for the 39-year-old Meta CEO, Zuckerberg has been busy training with UFC stars to prepare for the fight—and looking more jacked than ever.

If and when this scrap happens, its targeted venue at one of the world's most hallowed battlegrounds will make it a billionaire bout for the ages.
