Emma Roberts Gives Birth to Her First Baby with Garrett Hedlund
Congratulations are most definitely in order as Emma Roberts has welcomed her first baby with Garrett Hedlund.
E! News confirmed the arrival of the Holidate star's baby boy, with an "insider" telling the publication, "Everyone is healthy." Although the baby's name is currently unconfirmed, TMZ is reporting that Hedlund and Roberts called their son Rhodes.
Roberts and Hedlund were first romantically linked in March 2019, and reports of the actress's pregnancy broke in June 2020. In November 2020, the American Horror Story actress revealed to Cosmopolitan that she'd long dreamed of becoming a mother. "Ever since I was little, I wanted to have a baby, in theory," Roberts explained. "When I was a kid, I begged my mom to have another baby. The day she brought my sister home from the hospital, I remember holding her, wanting to dress and play with her."
Roberts also got candid about having endometriosis and discovering she had fertility issues. "In my late 20s, I just had a feeling I needed to switch to a female doctor. It was the best decision," she revealed. "She ran tests, sent me to a specialist. Finally, there was validation that I wasn’t being dramatic. But by then, it had affected my fertility. I was told, 'You should probably freeze your eggs or look into other options.'"
However, Roberts and Hedlund soon found themselves expecting a baby boy. "It sounds cheesy, but the moment that I stopped thinking about it, we got pregnant," the actress said.
