Emma Stone's husband is David Lawrence McCary, an American comedian, writer and director best known for his work on Saturday Night Live.
McCary got his start doing sketch comedy at the University of Southern California, where he met his future creative partners Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett and Nick Rutherford (all of whom have worked at SNL as well). Together, they formed the sketch group Good Neighbor in 2007.
In 2013, McCary was hired to be a segment director at Saturday Night Live, where he worked for five seasons, through 2018, helming pre-taped sketches. During that time he also directed the indie comedy Brigsby Bear, which starred his Good Neighbor buddies.

Stone and McCary reportedly met in December 2016 when she was hosting Saturday Night Live. Though romantic sparks apparently flew right away, the couple kept their budding relationship very private in the early days.
They didn't make their first official public appearance together until 2019 at the SAG Awards. Later that year, McCary announced their engagement by posting a sweet photo with Stone showing off her ring. (The pic has since been deleted.)
