Some fans think Emma Stone gave a subtle shoutout to her BFF, Taylor Swift, during the Oscars telecast on Sunday, March 10.
The longtime friend of the touring artist was honored as Best Lead Actress for her role in Poor Things at the 96th Academy Awards, at which point she made a statement that seemed to reference the "Karma" songstress.
In a screengrab of the moment, uploaded to Twitter by Variety, the emotional actress wraps up her acceptance speech, shouting out her whole family, including her mom, brother, dad, and husband, before telling, "most importantly," her daughter, who's about to turn three years old, "I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl."

For those who don't know, "Bigger Than the Whole Sky" is a bonus track, of sorts, from Swift's latest studio album Midnights, released on the "3 a.m." version of the record. It's been interpreted in several ways, including as detailing the loss of a romantic relationship, the loss of a friend—specifically, her late high school friend Jeff Lang, who died at 21 years old and who many believe her song "Forever Winter" to be about—or even a miscarriage, featuring lyrics like, "I'm never gonna meet what could've been, would've been, what should've been you" and, "Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, you were bigger than the whole sky, you were more than just a short time." Swift even sang it as one of the surprise songs following the death of a Brazilian fan at a previous show, prompting many to believe it to be in tribute to her.
While the track is rather heartbreaking to listen to, the phrase is a beautiful way to describe someone you love, and fans were quick to note it as a possible nod to the songwriter, with one calling it a "total Taylor shoutout," though, naturally, some couldn't help but to search for a deeper meaning:
Swifties trying to figure out if Emma Stone winning the Oscar & quoting a Taylor Swift song is somehow an easter egg for TTPD or Rep TV. https://t.co/Pa9H2gwclo pic.twitter.com/Oxj9nzVsEJ

Others, of course, felt that it was taking away from Stone's moment, suggesting that the phrasing was just a coincidence:
Stop!!! People are not walking around giving Taylor shoutouts. This woman one an Oscar the last thing on her mind is Taylor. Not everything is Taylor related.
