Emma Stone is usually pretty private when it comes to her romance with SNL's Dave McCary, but the couple decided to make their recent engagement news public with a gorgeous Instagram selfie featuring Stone's sparkly new ring. Congratulations are most definitely in order!

McCary went the untraditional route for the special piece of jewelry. He opted for a piece by Tokyo-based designer Katoka, which features a radiant center pearl, rather than the usual diamond. The ring still consists of several diamonds surrounding the 8 mm pearl and dotting the 18k beige gold band.

Katie Zimmerman, the Chief Merchandising Officer of Blue Nile, which is the largest online retailer of certified diamonds and fine jewelry, tells BAZAAR.com, "Emma’s beautiful engagement ring is on trend with what we’re expecting in 2020. The vintage setting has a sunken floral designed halo with pave accents."

Who What Wear spoke to fourth-generation gemologist and founder of The Clear Cut, Olivia Landau, about Stone's "antique-style" engagement ring. Per Landau, "antique diamonds like old mine cuts and old European cuts have become extremely popular." The gemologist continued, "What people love about antique diamonds are that no two are the same, they have a very charming faceting pattern and sparkle."

In October 2017, a source revealed to People that Stone and McCary had reportedly been dating "for at least three months." Page Six confirmed that Stone had attended the premiere of McCary's movie, Brigsby Bear, in June 2017, suggesting that they may have already been seeing each other at the time.
