Enjoy summer salads and crispy chicken at North Jersey's 12 new restaurants

Happy summer, North Jersey!

The bees are buzzing, the birds are singing and the dads are in the backyard grilling everything from pork ribs to beef patties. Sigh a deep breath of relief — we've reached the best time of the year.

We've also arrived, it seems, at a period of exponential restaurant growth, as the past few weeks have seen the opening of 12 new local restaurants.

From a coffee shop in Verona to a Nashville Hot Chicken Shack in Ridgewood, here are Jersey's late-June culinary babies.
