Pepsi and Baskin-Robbins are coming together, in honor of the ice cream float’s 150th birthday, giving one winner a chance to win ice cream floats for a whole year! The team is also partnering up with Dancing With the Stars pro, Alan Bersten, who has the one-day-only position of CFO, or Chief Floats Officer, and will help to spread the word.

How to enter the Pepsi x Baskin-Robbins ice cream float giveaway

If you’re interested in winning free ice cream floats every week for an entire year, listen up: Between Tuesday, October 15 and Tuesday, November 12, customers can order an ice cream float made with any Pepsi beverage from a Baskin-Robbins, or they can order two scoops of ice cream and a Pepsi beverage on the side.

About the Pepsi x Baskin-Robbins collaboration

Pepsi and Baskin-Robbins have teamed up to celebrate 150 years of ice cream floats with their delicious giveaway.  The idea for the collaboration comes for the treat’s birthday and to offer the world a tasty combination.

About the history of the ice cream float

If you love ice cream and you love soda, you will go crazy for an ice cream float. The dessert, however, was invented by accident. In 1874, Robert M. Green was serving soda creams at a semicentennial celebration in Philadelphia, when he ran out of cream. Instead of closing up shop, Green borrowed vanilla ice cream from another vendor and accidentally invented the ice cream float.

Called “one of life’s simple pleasures” by Jerid Grandinetti, Vice President of Marketing and Culinary at Baskin-Robbins, ice cream floats are an enjoyable indulgence that should be celebrated. Therefore, when the anniversary came around, Pepsi and Baskin-Robbins decided to jump on it.
