Ethan Hawke Says His Daughter's Success Is Still "Shocking"
Proud papa Ethan Hawke can't stop gushing about his daughter, Maya. According to Entertainment Tonight, Ethan spoke at the Television Critics Association press tour and explained that he's both "honored" and shocked that Maya has found success in Hollywood. She made a huge splash last year in season 3 of Stranger Things and then starred as a member of the Manson family in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
"It's one of the great honors of my life," Ethan said. "It's shocking. I knew when she was a kid that she was — I felt that she was an artist really young and I have a feeling that she's ... she's a substantive human being. And it keeps my life interesting and exciting to try to be the person that she wants me to be."

Ethan got even more sentimental, saying that while he's a Hollywood vet, he's always learning from up-and-comers, his daughter included. Hawke shares two children with his ex, Uma Thurman: Maya and 17-year-old Levon. He also has two daughters with his wife, Ryan Shawhughes: 12-year-old Clementine 9-year-old Indiana.
"Kids think so highly of their parents and sometimes they think more highly of us than we think of ourselves," he said. "I didn't realize that part of the value in mentoring people is that they teach you. And I learned a lot from our kids."
