'Euphoria' Star Angus Cloud Dead at 25
Hollywood has lost one of its rising stars.
On July 31, TMZ reported that Angus Cloud, known for his role of Fezco on HBO's Euphoria, has died. He was 25 years old.
Per the outlet, the Euphoria star (born Conor Angus Cloud Hickey) died at his family's home in Oakland, Calif. In fact, the late star's family confirmed the news in a statement: "It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways."
As the update continued, it was revealed that the young performer had been struggling with a personal loss.
"Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss," the statement further noted. "The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."
As the statement concluded, Cloud's family added, "We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss."
Cloud made his on-camera acting debut in the Zendaya-led HBO drama. On being discovered on the street to play the fan-favorite drug dealer with a heart of gold, Cloud told GQ in 2019, "I was confused and I didn’t want to give her my phone number...I thought it was a scam."
As he continued, Cloud revealed the toll acting took on him, adding, "It’s a different kind of hard. I am not running around sweating, but it’s that mental s--t. You have to stay focused. You have to be on point. You can’t call in sick. Acting takes a lot out of you. I’d be drained, but I was just sitting there acting.”
Euphoria wasn't Cloud's only acting credit, as he also appeared in the 2021 film North Hollywood and the 2023 film The Line. An "Untitled Monster Thriller for Universal Pictures Project" was listed as filming on his IMDB, too.
