Eva Mendes shares her many roles as a mom: 'Chauffeur, personal chef, stylist, therapist, cheerleader and assistant'
Eva Mendes is moving into mom mode.
The Hitch star, 48, took to Instagram on Friday to share a black and white photo of herself in a robe, eating cereal at the kitchen table. Her exhausted expression was explained in the caption. She wrote, “It was a long work week. Taking a moment before I shift into Mami gear where I’m a chauffeur, personal chef, stylist, therapist, cheerleader and assistant to my delicious kids.”
Mendes is mom to daughters Esmeralda, 7, and Amada, 6. She shares her little ones with her longtime partner Ryan Gosling, who she began dating after they connected on the set of the 2012 film The Place Beyond the Pines.
Followers loved Mendes' candid post. One commented, "The many hats of motherhood!" Another added, "Most rewarding and never ending job."
In June, the Ghost Rider actress spoke to Yahoo Life about raising her children while also working on her professional projects. She shared that she wants to instill a sense of confidence in her daughters.
"I just want to be able to show my girls, especially [since] they're girls, that no, you can change and shift and you can change your mind at any point, and you can change your major, change your decision,” she explained. “Not to say it's going to be easy and ... you're probably going to quote-unquote 'fail' more than you're going to succeed, but that's part of it. And I want to be the example of that by doing it, and by taking the shame out of failing, specifically."
In a July interview with Byrdie, Mendes also shared that she wants to teach her kids how to care for their physical and mental wellbeing.
"I am trying to educate them about what we eat and what we put into our bodies, and how that manifests itself physically, whether it's how we look or how we feel," she said. "Hopefully Ryan and I are doing the work by just loving them, completely loving them, and doing most of that work for them so that they grow up feeling like they're enough.”
