Evan Rachel Wood Is Unrecognizable in David Bowie-esque Makeup

Actress Evan Rachel Wood, 29, has been a fan favorite in Hollywood for years now. Known for her awesome film performances beginning as far back as her start in 1994, Wood has had quite the career, and her latest TV hit, Westworld, seems to be yet another stellar performance for the seasoned actress.

However, while her latest HBO hit has created quite a buzz on its own, it was Wood’s recent press talk at an AOL Build event to discuss the show that caught our eye. No, it wasn’t what she said that had us reeling, but rather, it was her incredible makeup look that had us completely captivated.

While talking about her latest show (as well as performing with her band, the Group Rebel), Wood looked almost unrecognizable. Her short cropped hair was styled with lots of volume, and she had on red eyeshadow that was either inspired by David Bowie or the sure-to-be Halloween costume hit Harley Quinn. While we certainly love Wood’s red eyeshadow, it’s not exactly the easiest to pull off during day-to-day wear. So, for a less dramatic version, try a red shadow with purple or burgundy undertones like the Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Raw Power ($21) or the Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow in Morello Cherry ($21) to tone it down a notch. Another tip? Don’t blend the shadow down to the contours of your cheeks like Wood did. While that looks amazing if you’re going for a punk rock, smudgy nighttime look, it can appear too intense during the day.

Whether or not you’re a fan of Wood, the actress is currently at the top of her game in Hollywood. With her latest television success, coupled with her daring new look, we can’t wait to see what the star will surprise us with next.
