Even after decades of being under the bright lights of Hollywood after making her debut in E.T. at just seven years old, Drew Barrymore has managed to keep her youthful appearance (and not to mention spirit) alive. Which is not all that surprising considering how vocal she is about her love for beauty products—she did create Flower Beauty, a whole line of cosmetics, after all.

In fact, the Santa Clarita star loves beauty so much that she started hosting a #beautyjunkieweek several times a year on her Instagram page. Barrymore told Insider, "I don't buy bags, I don't buy shoes—skincare is my thing. I don't want to turn to the needle or the doctors, so I love investing in it. Because then, I can bring it to people." The best part is that none of her product reviews are paid for or sponsored by the brands so you know you're getting her true thoughts.

Here are some of the products and skincare rules she lives by to maintain her radiant complexion.

Her skincare routine is only three steps.

While she does like to experiment with different products, when it comes to her everyday routine Drew told Insider she keeps it to three steps: A light cleanser, followed by a simple toner and a brightening serum. While she’s a fan of Chanel’s foaming cleanser, she also says, "If I'm on the run, I love a good Cetaphil." As for toner, "Anything from down and dirty witch hazel or I still love old-school Noxzema or Sea Breeze. Or a really great toner from a skin care company, whether its natural or not."

And, last but not least, her brightening serum is where she splurges with one from derm-favorite brand Skinmedica.

She swears by this sunscreen that doesn't break her out.

Applying sunscreen is one of the best ways to keep your skin looking young. Barrymore takes her sunscreen seriously. Her favorite formula is the UV Daily Broad-Spectrum SPF 40 by Elta MD (a brand that is also constantly recommended by dermatologists).

On Instagram she wrote, “This is my jam. I break out from almost every sunblock. So I’m like, ‘Do I want acne or brown pigmentation?’…Then I found this. It’s a lightweight sunscreen with a tiny bit of tint and a good number SPF. I have been a long time fan of this line."

She pays attention to her chest and neck.

Spending so much time focusing on the skincare on your face can often make you forget about the skin on your chest and neck. Spoiler: They could use the skincare love as well. Back during another #beautyjunkieweek in 2018, the star posted a picture of herself with her hand raised to the center of her chest. The caption read, "My dermatologist said to me, 'Don't forget, your beauty routine starts from here up,' and made this exact line on her chest. And I can't forget it. We know this, but we don't do it. I don't. I love my skincare routines. But I forget anything below the chin," Barrymore wrote in the post. "So next time you go to wash your face, remember this hand on your chest and work upwards!"

She loves a laser treatment.

Her favorite type is a Clear + Brilliant laser treatment with her dermatologist, Roy G. Geronemus. In addition to raving about it on her Insta, she also gushed about the treatments to Glamour UK. The treatment “just schluffs the barnacles of brown and sun damage off your face,” Barrymore said. “It’s the greatest thing ever. It’s non-invasive and there’s no downtime. It’s like microdermabrasion laser, but it always makes me feel so much more attractive,” she added.

She uses this eye cream instead of concealer for dark circles.

During Drew's #beautyjunkieweek back in March, the actress dedicated a whole Instagram Live to Olay's Ultimate Eye Cream saying, "this on its own not only acts like a concealer, brightening and lightening the effect and look of a dark circle, but it's also taming the dark circle while you wear it. It's sort of a perfect alchemy of skincare as makeup and I love this. It's my tried and true."

She credits the peachy, iridescent tint and continues raving saying, "I'm obsessed with how you can go out in your day with a lot more confidence and a better look over all while actually doing a skin treatment."

She has a positive outlook on aging.

In a 2019 interview with New Beauty, Drew opened up about changing her mindset when it comes to aging. "I just went through a couple of hard years, and I can see it wearing on my face," she says. "There’s also a very long period when you’re raising kids when it takes it out of you. When it depletes your ability to take care of yourself because your new job is doing nothing but taking care of someone else and you love it."

But rather than looking down on another birthday and what that means for her appearance, her daughters have inspired her to take a different approach. "I’m now determined more than ever to show my daughters that aging is a luxury," says says. "If we’re lucky, we are all going to age. I just want them to be at peace with who they are and not what they look like."
