Now you can try your hand at designing your own Wes Anderson world at home, thanks to a new line of three Anderson-inspired wallpapers from British brand MuralsWallpaper, launched to celebrate the-pick your adjective: quirky, eccentric, whimsical-director’s 50th birthday on May 1. So if you love the aesthetic of Anderson’s movies, you’ll want to run-no slow-motion walking!-to order these now.
Suzy, named after the young heroine of Moonrise Kingdom (2012), features a pattern of multicolored butterflies on a neutral field-the perfect homage to the quintessential coming-of-age movie, set at a New England summer camp in the 1960s.
This pattern is Agatha, a nod to Saoirse Ronan’s character in The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). The trompe-l’oeil paneling effect in this ever-so-popular dusty rose conjures up memories of the infamous Mexico-shaped birthmark on Agatha’s cheek.
Last but not least is Margot, who was the marvelously morose daughter played by Gwyneth Paltrow in The Royal Tenenbaums (2001). Perhaps this brighter-than-bright tiger-and-tropical leaves motif would have cheered her up? (Probably not.)
