Awards season is in full swing, and next up is the 29th Critics Choice Awards. The annual star-studded ceremony recognizes "the finest in cinematic and television achievement." It is said to historically be the "most accurate predictor of Academy Award nominations," which will be announced about a week after the Critics Choice Awards.

Greta Gerwig's Barbie leads this year's film nominations with a record-breaking 18 nods, followed by Oppenheimer and Poor Things with 13 nominations each. Over in the TV category, The Morning Show leads the pack with six nods, while the final season of Succession earned five.

The 29th annual Critics Choice Awards will air live on The CW at 7 p.m. ET. Cord-cutters can tune in on live TV streaming platforms such as DirecTV Stream, Sling TV, Fubo TV and Hulu + Live TV, but they'll need subscriptions to do so.

Who is hosting the 2024 Critics Choice Awards?

Chelsea Handler is returning to host the 2024 show. "I am very happy and excited to be hosting the Critics Choice Awards again this year, as last year was one of the most fun nights I’ve had," she said in a previous press release.

Handler added, "There is no greater reward than making fun of actors and then getting drunk with them afterward. It’s an honor."

Is anyone being honored at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards?

Harrison Ford, who earned a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Shrinking, will receive the Career Achievement Award at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards. James Mangold will honor Ford on stage with the award.

Also at the ceremony, nominee America Ferrera will be presented with the 8th annual SeeHer Award, which "honors a woman who advocates for gender equality, portrays characters with authenticity, defies stereotypes and pushes boundaries," per the Critics Choice Association.
