Everything You Need To Know About 'County Rescue' — Great American Family's First Scripted Series
Great American Family (GAF) has been carving out their spot amongst network television's biggest players. And while the last few years have brought us cozy Christmas classics, heartwarming love stories and more, GAF is taking on something different: their very first original scripted series. On Friday, February 23, County Rescue will debut on Great American Pure Flix, the company's streaming platform. On Monday, February 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the brand new show will air on Great American Family.
Read on to find out what the series is about, the faces you can expect to see, and what's in store in this debut season of County Rescue!
What is County Rescue about?
If you're a fan of the first-responder-centric series that dominate network television in this day and age, then you'll want to add County Rescue to your weekly rotation. This series follows a group of EMTs and paramedics as they navigate their high-stakes profession, while they simultaneously juggle love, life and faith.
"County Rescue is an inspirational, scripted series with a terrific ensemble cast that showcases the remarkable work of EMTs and first responders and the challenges they face daily. These are the everyday heroes who make communities across America great,” says Bill Abbott, President & CEO of Great American Media in a press release.
Abbott continued, “The series is about discovering oneself and who we are each meant to be while working alongside those who care about us. County Rescue is an exemplary family-friendly series, and we are extremely proud and excited to bring the quality series every member of the family can watch together."
Who stars in County Rescue?
The series stars Julia Reilly as Dani and Riley Hough as Tim, two probationary level EMTs who meet on their first day as they join the crew at County Rescue. Also apart of this ensemble cast is Tim Perez-Ross as Chief Scotty, whose trust and approval they are aiming to earn, as well as his son Griffin, played by Keller Fornes.
Although Dani is strong in her faith and in this journey toward helping people, the doubts of her parents as she pursues this new endeavor affects her confidence. While Tim is intelligent and capable, he is the more reserved rookie of the group, making him the polar opposite of Griffin, whose cockiness, impulsivity and over-confidence brings upon its own set of issues.
As for Chief Scotty, his motto, "Be strong, keep your cool, serve well,” exemplifies his character.
Other key players include Duke, played by Percy Bell, Ashley, played by Kristin Wollett, Andy, played by Brett Varvel, Liz, played by Stacey Patino and Marcos, played by Angel Luis.
Duke, Ashley, Andy, Liz and Marcos are the other members of this team, and each serve as leaders with individual strengths that contribute to the overall core of the group.
What can I expect from season 1?
Season 1 begins with Dani (Julia Reilly), following a calling to become an EMT. It's pursuing this new endeavor where she meets Tim (Riley Hough), a fellow rookie she finds comfort in, who she quickly learns is her newest competition: Chief Scotty (Tim Perez-Ross) breaks the news that only one new EMT can be hired due to budget cuts, with his son, Griffin (Keller Fornes), being another one of their competitors.
As the season progresses, we watch as the probationary crew fight to prove themselves, while the other full-time members of the team deal with their own personal issues, from trouble on the romantic front to more serious matters like alcoholism and PTSD.
When and where can I watch County Rescue?
County Rescue premieres on Friday, February 23 on GAF's streaming service, Great American Pure Flix. On Monday, February 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the series will debut on the network itself.
As for Great American Family as a whole, there's a lot on the horizon for this ever-growing network. Two additional original scripted series will soon air on the network: Destination Heaven and Shadrach.
“We are continuing to build on the phenomenal growth of our media brand and are excited to now fully capitalize on the synergies now available with Sony and Great American Pure Flix. Our portfolio of content is a trusted source of family friendly and faith-based entertainment, and our 2023 results greatly exceeded our expectations,” adds Bill Abbott. “We are looking forward to having a positive impact on viewers and the entertainment business by creating quality content that can be enjoyed by the entire family.”
