Everything You Need to Know About Kanye West and Drake's Feud
Kanye West is back at it again with a lengthy Twitter rant, and this time Drake is his target. The ongoing feud brewing between Kanye West and Drake hit another level on Thursday night, as West unleashed over 100 (!) tweets demanding an apology from the "God's Plan" rapper for "sneak dissing," Drake's love of the purple devil emoji (?), and taking "food out your idols kids mouth," among other things-proving that after a brief hiatus, their war of words is far from over.
Here's everything you need to know about Kanye West and Drake's reignited feud.
What prompted Kanye West's Twitter rant?
It all started with a text message sent to West from his team asking for permission to clear "Say You Will" from West's 2008 album 808s & Heartbreaks for Drake. The text message didn't reveal what Drake planned to do with the sample but according to Billboard, Drake might have requested for the sample clearance so he can put his mixtape, So Far Gone, on streaming services when the 'tape turns 10 in February 2019. And for the record, Kanye didn't clear the sample.

Why would that upset Kanye West?
Kanye explained his frustration with Drake in the following tweet: "Still need that apology for mentioning the 350s and trying to take food out your idols kids mouth." Earlier in September, rapper French Montana recruited Champagne Papi for the song "No Stylist. In it, Drake took a subtle shot at Kanye. "Keepin' it G, I told her 'don't wear no 350s 'round me,' " he rapped on the song, referencing West's popular Yeezy 350 sneaker.

Not only did Drake's mention of Yeezy trigger Kanye, but he also accused Drake of "sneak dissing" him on Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode." Drake's "diss" on "Sicko Mode" wasn't as clear as his aim on "No Stylist," rapping, "Jesus Christ, checks over stripes," as Kanye is signed to Adidas (stripes) and Drake's OVO brand has a partnership with Nike (checks).

What about the threats he claimed Drake made?
Kanye could likely be referring to another part of Drake's verse in "Sicko Mode" where he raps, " I be spinnin' Valley, circle blocks 'til I'm dizzy/ Like where is he?/ No one seen him/ I'm tryna clean 'em." Valley Circle is a boulevard that runs through Calabasas, where many celebrities including West and Drake, live.

Kanye also accused Drake of purchasing the first two rows of tickets at Pusha T's Toronto show to exact revenge.

If you recall, Pusha T-G.O.O.D Music president and close Kanye collaborator-released his album Daytona in May 2018, featuring the Drake diss record "Infared." Drake responded with "Duppy Freestyle" and then Pusha again with the scathing "The Story of Adidon, " which accused Drake of fathering (and hiding) a son. In an interview on LeBron James' HBO show The Shop, Drake admitted that Pusha T wasn't his intended target because he believed West was the one who told Pusha T about his son.
West vehemently denied Drake's claim during his Twitter rant, writing, "I told you I ain’t tell Pusha about your son."
And what about those purple emojis?
Kanye hates them...

Like really hates them...

And believes Drake's frequent use of the purple emoji is to taunt him.

Did Drake respond?
In the midst of Kanye's rant, Drake took to his Instagram story to share a series of laughing emojis.
It's not clear if they were a direct response to Kanye but it didn't stop the rapper from airing his grievances on Twitter. Kanye ended his rant in the wee hours of Friday morning by sending "All positive vibes."
