Everything From Target's New Household Brand is Less Than $12

As if we needed another reason to shop at Target, the popular retailer announced a new budget-friendly household brand today.

The Smartly line includes more than 70 items, including simple home goods like paper towels and dish soap, as well as toiletries and personal care items like razors and body lotion. Products range from $0.59 to $11.99, though Target says in a press release that most products are under $2.

Smartly will help Target compete with other household and grocery providers like Walmart, Aldi, and even dollar stores. Customers continue to prioritize cost and efficiency, and Target is paying attention. “The introduction of Smartly is another example of how we are listening to consumers and bringing them solutions to make their lives easier," said Mark Tritton, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, in a Target press release.

Smartly's great prices aren't the only draw. The items feature simple designs and playful packaging. Expect to see bright colors and cheeky no-nonsense labels, such as paper napkins defined as “finger-food friendly" and unscented soap labeled as “smells like well, nothing.” Other soaps and shaving creams come in a variety of scents like lavender and blossom.

To encourage customers living in apartments or small spaces, Smartly products will be sold individually and in small bundles. This strategy will eliminate the need to buy products in bulk when storage space and budget are a concern.

Smartly products will be available online and in stores starting October 14. The collection will bring cost-effective products to customers year-round.
