Fall pollinator garden seed harvest and give-away set at Watermark Art Center
Sep. 13—BEMIDJI — Watermark Art Center
will give away pollinator-themed art kits plus a native wildflower seed blend harvested from its own pollinator gardens starting Sept. 21. The seeds and kits will be available as long as supplies last, at Watermark, 505 Bemidji Ave. N.
Weather permitting, Watermark is looking for volunteers to gather and harvest the seeds beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Participants can bring garden gloves and hand tools if they wish. Filling the packets will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19. Meet at the pollinator gardens in front of Watermark.
The Mississippi Headwaters Audubon Society, the Bemidji Monarch Project committee, Watermark Art Center and several other local organizations and businesses have joined together in a campaign called "Birds, Bees & Butterflies — Bemidji" to promote the planting of native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers in the community to benefit birds and pollinators.
