Fans Applaud Taylor Swift For Powering Through Mid-Concert Injury
Band-aids don't fix bullet holes, but they do fix stage injuries.
During her Houston concert on April 22, Taylor Swift proved that nothing's going to stop her from putting on a great show.
A fan account made a TikTok from the sold-out gig, showing the singer's left hand bleeding right below her palm. Throughout the show, Swift's team tried its best to heal the bad bloodied cut.
As seen in the upload, Swift first opted for a band-aid, but it wouldn't stick. Then, when she went through another outfit change, the band-aid was swapped out for a wrap bandage, but it twisted during her performance of "My Tears Ricochet," staining the top of her hand with blood.

Finally, sports tape did the trick, holding on for the rest of the concert.

Another fan documented the injury in a Twitter thread, writing that Swift cut her hand in between performing "Tolerate It" and "Ready For It." The fan's videos show that the band-aid began to fall off during the Red era part of the show, and Swift is seen trying to subtly hold it down with her fingers.
for those wondering about taylor's wrist here's what happened ??
she cut right below her palm sometime in the change btwn tolerate it -> RFI. her wrist is fine by the end of tolerate it and by the time she walks down the stage for rfi you see the blood near her palm. pic.twitter.com/8fINwsv6io— sophia (@lovr_23) April 24, 2023
Some fans joked in the TikTok's comments that it was an Easter egg teasing 1989 (Taylor's Version), while others commended her for performing without even giving a hint of the injury hurting. Fans who were at the show remarked that they didn't even notice Swift was harmed during the performance because she was so good at hiding it.
Swift has since kept fans updated on her injury, tweeting on Monday, April 24, "PS for those asking how I cut my hand, I’m totally fine and it was my fault completely— tripped on my dress hem and fell in the dark backstage while running to a quick change—braced my fall with my palm. It was all very Mercury in retrograde coded. Don't worry about me I’m gooooood."
