Actor Chris Hemsworth is spreading some holiday cheer on Instagram, but there's a catch— it comes with an extra dose of stress.

It's Chris-mas time in the Thor actor's household, and he took to social media to show how the holidays are done the Hemsworth way. In a rare home video, Chris shared some of his questionable tactics to put the final touches on the family's towering Christmas tree.

The 39-year-old shared the video with a joking caption reading, "Last year we tried this but with me on Elsa’s shoulders… nor the tree or @elsapataky’s knees made it. After 12 months of preparation we finally figured it out. A star is born!!"

With his three children as witnesses to their risky Christmas tree tradition and some much-needed encouragement, Chris's wife, Elsa, climbed onto the actor's shoulders and successfully placed the star atop the tree after which Chris yelled, "My spine!"

Despite our partiality toward ladders, we've got to admit that the holiday stunt was a lot more graceful than expected! After all, when you marry a Marvel superhero, we can only imagine that stunts like these can easily become everyday occurrences.

After watching the video more times than we'd all like to admit, fans bombarded Chris's comment section with messages like:

  • "When your wife asks you to bring the ladder, but you are God of Thunder...????"

  • "One of the many benefits of Thor being your hubby ??????"

  • "You need Spiderman ??"

  • "Sweet! I will challenge my husband to hoist me like this on Christmas eve... with an ambulance of standby of course ????"

Some fans even left some helpful tips like, "Next year ask Santa for a ladder?" and "Pro tip - put the star on before you stand the tree."
