Since Netflix announced The Kissing Booth 2 all the way back in February, one thirsty question has been festering across the internet: will Australian heartthrob Jacob Elordi appear in the sequel? His perfectly chiseled face was noticeably absent from the original announcement, which is not a good sign. Plus, the first movie ended with his character going to Harvard, so it would probably be pretty easy to write him out if he decided to dip out. Obviously, a Kissing Booth movie without Jacob would be absolutely tragic.

Anyway, the good news is that we don't actually have to try to imagine a bleak future without this beautiful 6'4" man. In a teaser video, Netflix confirmed that Jacob will be returning as Noah Flynn in The Kissing Booth 2. The only problem is, he appears to be completely bummed out by this news. Look at this little bb. He's literally making the same exact face my dog does when I pick him up and force him to cuddle with me. His voice also sounds extremely sad.

I mean, it's kind of hard to blame the poor guy. He's playing the love interest of his real-life ex-girlfriend, Joey King. No matter how amicably they ended the relationship, that's going to be awkward as hell. Do you remember the last time you accidentally walked into a pregame that your ex was at? You probably pretended to be texting the whole entire time. You can't do that when you're filming a movie!

If you think I'm just being hyper-sensitive because he's currently my number one celebrity crush, please enjoy these Twitter reactions from people who are also genuinely concerned that Jacob looks absolutely miserable in that video.

Look, as miserable as Jacob looks in this video...he really needs to just rip the bandaid off. We deserve another full-length movie with his face in it. That's just a fact! Besides, they've already wrapped filming for The Kissing Booth 2, so he probably already got the bulk of the cringe-worthy moments out of the way. Selfishly, I just hope he's noticeably happier in the actual movie.
