Fans Declare Robert Irwin Is 'Just Like His Dad' Steve in New Nature Video
Robert Irwin is carrying on his dad's legacy.
Robert, the son of late TV personality and "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, has been making his father proud, as he continues to share his love of nature and knowledge of wildlife with the public—just like his dad used to do.
After Steve died at age 44 in 2006 following a fatal encounter with a stingray, the rest of his family, including wife Terri and daughter Bindi, have dedicated their lives to keeping up his conservation efforts.
Robert, 19, particularly resembled his dad in his latest Instagram video, where he introduced his followers to a specific type of lizard, known as a mangrove monitor.
In the clip, Robert educated his followers on the species and showed off some of its features, before helping the creature get rid of some ticks that had found their way onto its skin.
"Ticks can actually really be very detrimental to their health," Robert explained, while pulling one off of the reptile.
"That's gonna feel a bit better for him" he continued, noting that he was just giving the lizard "a hand" before releasing him back into his habitat.
"One of my favs," Robert added of the lizard in his caption, where he also credited his brother-in-law, Bindi's husband Chandler Powell, with spotting the wild creature.
"So cool!!!??" Powell, 26, gushed in the comment section.
But instead of awing at the animal, most of Robert's followers couldn't get past how similar he is to his late dad, who had the same passion for protecting and admiring wildlife.
"Just like his dad :) Steve would be so proud," one follower wrote under the post.
"Steve Irwin lives on!" someone else beamed. "Robert is so much like his Dad!"
"I see Robert, I hear Steve ??" added another.
