Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte and Other Fall Drinks May Return Soon
We may be in the middle of Summer, but there’s a handful of people already looking ahead to the fall months—and specifically, the return of the fall menu at Starbucks.
A Starbucks employee reportedly told Instagram foodie account Markie_devo that a swap to the fall menu will happen on Aug. 29, 2023.
However, the most recent update reveals the drop date was reportedly moved up to Aug. 24, with claims that it comes on the heels of Dunkin's rumored release date of Aug. 16.
The update also teased the return of other fall favorites, including the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato, along with Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, and the Owl Cake Pop.
Two new items were also promised: Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso and Baked Apple Croissant.
Now, before you say something along the lines of “it’s too early,” let me remind you that in previous years, the popular coffee chain has crafted iced versions of its beloved drinks that make for the perfect sips during that transitional summer-to-fall period. You wouldn’t enjoy an iced Pumpkin Spice Latte when it’s sweater weather, right? But it will be a delight to your taste buds as you prepare to say "goodbye" to summer and "hello" to spooky season.
And that’s exactly why it makes sense that Starbucks would want to launch its fall menu in August when the weather is still warm enough to indulge in the iced beverages.
One user supported the earlier return of fall flavors, writing, “I’ll [sic] all for extending fall a month earlier. ??” while another called it the “best news all day.”
When Parade reached out to Starbucks for additional information, they provided this statement: “We’re currently enjoying our brand-new summer sip, the Frozen Lemonade Starbucks Refreshers?, and not quite ready to welcome fall yet! We’ll follow up when we have more details to share.”
Starbucks introduced two summer coffees—Chocolate Java Mint Frappuccino and White Chocolate Macadamia Cream Cold Brew—before announcing a trio of Frozen Lemonade Refreshers, available in three tantalizing flavors—Pineapple Passionfruit Lemonade, Strawberry A?aí Lemonade and Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade.
Though it may seem early, the rumored Aug. 24 return date would also fall in line with what the chain has done in previous years, arriving just a few days earlier than last year’s Aug. 30 fall debut.
This story, originally published on June 29, has been updated on July 27 to reflect the new rumored release date of Aug. 24.
