Fans Praise Emma Chamberlain After 'Uncomfortable' Doja Cat Interview

Emma Chamberlain once again knocked it out of the park as a correspondent at the Met Gala on Monday, keeping it professional even when things got a little weird.

The internet star, 21, served as a special correspondent for Vogue at the glamorous event, and she continues to get praised online for a few of her notable red carpet conversations, including the rather strange one she had with Doja Cat.

In the now-viral TikTok footage of Chamberlain's "chat" with the "Kiss Me More," singer—who looked unrecognizable for the evening while dressed as Karl Lagerfeld's cat, Choupette—things got a bit awkward as Doja refused to use any words, and only let out a few "Meows" instead.

When Chamberlain asked about Doja's cat-inspired ensemble, which featured a glittering silver gown with a hood and cat ears, as well as facial prosthetics to make her look like a real feline, the Grammy-winner didn't provide any answers, giving just a "meow" followed by awkward silence.

Chamberlain tried to go on with the conversation, asking "Who made it?" in reference to her outfit for the evening, but Doja wasn't breaking character and continued to "Meow" throughout the entire conversation.

Fans online had a lot of thoughts about the interaction, with many of them praising the YouTube star for handling the situation with grace and humor, despite how "uncomfortable" some viewers found it.

"So strange," one user wrote in response to the TikTok clip, while another called the interaction, "Weird weird weird."

Others thought Chamberlain went along with the bit perfectly, as one person pointed out, "Emma knew how to joke along."

"I think emma's actually the perfect interviewer for this moment tbh," someone else added.

"this is the second video i've seen of people meowing at interviewers at the met gala," another user added, proving that there really is never a dull moment at "fashion's biggest night out."
