Fans Praise Reba For Paying Homage to Country Stars Who 'Paved the Road' for Her
Reba McEntire is forever grateful for the women in country music who led the way for other artists like her.
The prolific musician—who is now a country music legend in her own right—recently gave a shoutout to all of the pioneers of women in country, who she believes laid the foundation for others in the industry.
While appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show earlier this week, McEntire, 68, insisted, "You know what's really important, is to pay homage to the women who paved the road for me."
She went on to name some of the most influential female country icons, dropping the names, "Dolly [Parton], Loretta [Lynn], Tammy [Wynette], Barbara Mandrell," which caused the crowd, and host Hudson, to break out into applause.
"They had a lot of big 'ole chug holes, potholes that they had to go around," she continued. "And they kind of had them paved over before we got there."
"Nice of them to do that," she added.

The "Does He Love You" songstress shared a clip of the segment to her Instagram page on Wednesday, May 31, writing in the caption, "I wouldn’t be where I am out with women like @dollyparton, @lorettalynn, Tammy, and @barbaramandrellmusic."
She also included the hashtag, "#WomenInCountry."
McEntire's fans were touched by her shoutout to other country stars, including one commenter who wrote, "Outstanding that she appreciates those who came before her," under the post.
"Such a class act to honor those legendary women!" another fan echoed.
Even Parton herself showed some love on Wednesday's Instagram post, taking to the comments to leave a red heart emoji, "??."
"Queens supporting Queens ????" one commenter wrote in response.
