Fans Sound Off About Discontinued Ice Cream Truck Treat
One of Good Humor's discontinued ice cream bars is still a sore spot for fans–even a year after the company confirmed it would discontinue its Toasted Almond bar.
Now that summer is around the corner, fans of the frozen treat have begun craving the sweet layers of almond core encased by velvety smooth vanilla ice cream and coated in almond-flavored cake bits.
Unfortunately, it's still not available, and according to new reports, the company has no plans to bring the flavor back.
For those needing a refresher, the online meltdown began about a year ago, on June 3, 2022, shortly after one social media user questioned, "Where the H--l did you put the Toasted Almond Bars?" and tagged Good Humor.
Later that day, a representative for the household brand tweeted: "Hi there, the Good Humor Toasted Almond bars have unfortunately been discontinued. We apologize to our customers that may be disappointed by this news but are excited to continue offering our customers a wide variety of treats available in stores and ice cream trucks."

More recently, though, on Thursday, June 16, TODAY.com reporters reached out to the company, asking for any sort of update regarding the beloved Toasted Almond bars (like if and when they would be making a comeback).
To which Good Humor replied with the following statement: "At Good Humor, we’re always updating our product portfolio to reflect consumer preferences. A necessary but unfortunate part of this is that we sometimes must discontinue products in order to ensure we can offer customers the best variety of treats nationwide. Due to this, we had to discontinue the Good Humor Toasted Almond bars in 2022. We apologize to our customers that may be disappointed by this news, and while we do not have a current plan to bring back this product, we are excited to continue offering our customers a wide variety of treats available in stores and ice cream trucks."
The Toasted Almond bar—along with the brand's equally-famous Chocolate Eclair and Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bars—have been discontinued and brought back before, with the last re-launch in 1992.
While the company seems to have different plans for this season, it still offers a variety of fabulous frozen treat options. That said, some Parade editors believe nothing compares to the Toasted Almond bar–and we're not alone. This past fall, a petition was launched demanding Good Humor resurrect the flavor, and just yesterday, social media users called for a boycott of the brand until the flavor is brought back.
