Fans Go Wild as Jason Sudeikis Reprises ‘Ted Lasso Dance’ at College Basketball Game

At a recent Iowa women's basketball game, Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis got up and put on a little show for fans, doing his character's iconic dance from the series.
On Saturday, Dec. 2, the official social media for Iowa women's basketball shared a clip of Sudeikis getting up and showing off his dance moves, with the caption reading, "Special guest on the Hawkeye dance cam…the Lasso way." Former professional basketball player Sue Bird sits behind him, smiling and clapping, as the two appear to be friends.
There were plenty of fans of both the actor and Bird in the comments, like one who enthusiastically wrote, "Jason S AND Sue Bird? I don’t know which person to envy more!"
In particular, fans of the popular comedy series went wild for the dance, with comments like, "Ted lasso in the house," "That dance is what made me fall in love with him!" and "Love me some Ted."
EspnW also shared the clip, writing alongside it, "Sue Bird and Jason Sudeikis courtside at an Iowa women’s basketball game is our Roman Empire ??."
The post got even more love for Sudeikis' dance, as one fan commended him, saying, "Man what a great sport for doing that in front of all those fans."
"Here for this ????????????????????????????????????," said another, as someone else declared, "That's Ted Lasso not Jason Sudeikis."
Sudeikis plays the title character in the comedy series Ted Lasso, which centers around a former American football coach who is hired to lead an English soccer team. The dance Sudeikis did at the basketball game is something his character does in celebration throughout the series.
Premiering in August 2020, the show has three seasons. It won many major awards, including the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, while Sudeikis took home a slew of awards for his performance as the lead character.
