Hailey Bieber has just given her fans a heartbreaking health update, as she revealed that she has an ovarian cyst “the size of an apple.”

The 26-year-old Victoria’s Secret model took to her Instagram Story to show her 49.4M followers a picture of her swollen stomach, which she said was due to an ovarian cyst that she described as “painful” and causing her to feel “nauseous” and “bloated.” Hailey hinted that she wanted to dispel the rumors that she was pregnant, which some people previously speculated, writing “not a baby” next to her stomach on the picture she shared.
"I have a cyst on my ovary the size of an apple," the Rhode Skin founder wrote on Instagram, alongside a mirror selfie of her wearing loose, light grey sweatpants and lifting her darker grey sweater up to reveal her bare stomach. "I don't have endometriosis or polycystic ovarian syndrome but I have gotten an ovarian cyst a few times and it's never fun."
"It's painful and achey and makes me feel nauseous and bloated and crampy and emotional," she added. "Anyway… I'm sure a lot of you can overly relate and understand. We got this."
What Is An Ovarian Cyst?
Ovarian cysts are very common. They are fluid-filled sacs that occur naturally and, in most cases, go away in a few months without needing any treatment. According to the Mayo Clinic, "most of the time, you have little or no discomfort, and the cysts are harmless. Most cysts go away without treatment within a few months." Most ovarian cysts are non-cancerous, but the Mayo Clinic reports that they can sometimes "become twisted or rupture," or even block the blood supply to the ovaries, which can then cause serious symptoms.
Large cysts, for example, can cause pelvic pain and nausea, which Hailey reported, and those causing severe symptoms or those that could be cancerous may need to be surgically removed. Women are encouraged to get regular pelvic exams and be aware of the symptoms.

Hailey's Previous Health Concerns
This year can't have been easy for Hailey, as she was hospitalized back in March after suffering a small blood clot on the brain, which she later said was the "scariest moment" of her life. At the time, Hailey said she was having breakfast with husband Justin Bieber, and then started experiencing "stroke like symptoms." When Justin asked if she was okay, Hailey said that she "couldn’t speak," adding that "the right side of my face started drooping, I couldn’t get a sentence out," which then caused the "Peaches" singer to immediately call for help.
The next month, Hailey opened up to her fans about her health scare, saying that the doctors diagnosed her with a patent foramen ovale (PFO), which is a small opening in the heart that usually closes after birth. "They found that I had a grade-five PFO, which is the highest grade that you can have. Mine was fairly large," Hailey confessed. "My blood clot escaped through the flap, or the hole, in my heart and traveled to my brain, and that was why I had my TIA." She also noted that several factors must have played a part in her blood clot forming, including using birth-control pills, recently having Covid, and recently flying on a plane.
However, Hailey underwent a procedure to have the hole closed, and everything reportedly "went smoothly." Hailey said: "The biggest thing I feel, honestly, is I just feel really relieved that we were able to figure everything out, that we were able to get it closed, that I will be able to just move on from this really scary situation and just live my life."
