Fast food restaurant will no longer serve pot-smoking drive-through customers
Puff, puff? This restaurant will pass.
As the SunHerald reports, a Sonic Drive-In restaurant in Gulfport, Miss., is taking a stand against drive-through diners who are smoking marijuana. The eatery has posted a sign alerting customers to its new policy of not serving anyone getting stoned.
“Attention: If you are smoking weed in the drive thru you will not be served!” the posted sign states. “Please show some common courtesy and smoke and air out before pulling up to order.”

Manager Yasman Freeman told the SunHerald that the restaurant, part of the popular Sonic fast food chain, is taking action in response to a recent incident in which a customer blew smoke into the face of a server who is underage.
Sonic is famous for its drive-in service provided by carhops, which means servers are in close contact with customers. Many locations also offer drive-through service.
Freeman said the sign has so far been effective in curbing servers’ exposure to secondhand smoke.
