Jun. 16—Event officials estimated tens of thousands of people packed into downtown Sharon for the 41st Annual Father's Day Car Show Sunday.

Tony Renze, treasurer of the Shenango Valley Region of the Automobile Club of America, said about 400 vehicles registered to be in the show, and there were more vehicle that did not register, leaving the estimate at 500 to 600 cars in the show.

Tim Jablon, of Clark, brought his 1932 Ford 5 Window, along with his wife, Sherri, to the show.

"We're usually on vacation in Canada during this week, but we moved the date so we could come," Jablon said. "We will probably come every year now that we moved the date."

Jablon was surprised with the turnout.

"They were here early," Jablon said. "The people started walking up and down way before 10 o'clock."

The show was supposed to start at noon, but that didn't stop car owners from bringing in their cars starting at 7:30 a.m. and people to start browsing a couple hours later.

Sherri and Tim consider the Ford 5 Window their child. He also owns a Corvette, but he always brings the Ford to the show.

"I like the older ones," Jablon said.

Scott and Debbie Smith, of Hydetown, Pa., brought in their 1967 Ford Mustang.

Several people were admiring the fire engine red Mustang. This car is a tribute to "Little Red," Scott said.

"It was made to look like Little Red," he said. "It's all brand new underneath and all new ball and drive train."

Scott said his wife picked out all the interior and the mirrored rims.

Scott said this is the first year he brought this Mustang to the Father's Day Car Show. He brought a green pickup truck in years past and a Cobra in other years.

The weather held up and people came in droves to see the old and new cars.

"It's been pretty crowded," Renze said.
