FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A potentially lifesaving first aid class on mental health was taught in Fayetteville by Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

The course trains participants to recognize the signs of a mental health crisis and how to respond.

“Arkansas BlueCross and BlueShield is really committed to whole person health, and we really understand and believe that a person can’t be healthy without the correct behavioral health,” Sarah Lehr with Arkansas BlueCross BlueShield said. “And so, if we’re not addressing mental health, we’re not addressing whole person health.”
