Feeling stuck for summer dressing inspiration? Here are 7 new looks to try now
The heatwave in the UK is back and looks set to continue over the next week or so. While we're no doubt embracing the sun with open arms, we also need to slightly reinvent all of the summer looks we've been wearing non-stop.
Fear not, as a host of stylish celebrities have been out and about providing a welcome and timely dose of summer inspiration.
From embracing prints and welcoming pops of colour, to summer tailoring and going minimal, here are the best summer dressing tips we've picked up from them...
Not keen on dresses? Try a jumpsuit
A boiler suit wouldn't normally get my heart racing, but Doutzen's is the exception. So effortless, so lightweight, so elegant - who knew boiler suits could be elegant? I'll look for one in slightly-more-practical khaki or denim, starting my search at MiH. CGE
Timeless staples are a no-brainer
Well, I never thought I'd say it but I want to look like Katie Holmes. I'm a sucker for simplicity, but as anyone who's ever tried to do pared-back will know, it takes some nailing. Here, Holmes has found a t-shirt is not too tight and not too loose and a lovely indigo denim skirt which hits at a below-the-knee point I'd consider close to perfect. Elsewhere, this look has been compared to something Jackie O might have worn. I'm inclined to agree - it will look as good in ten years as it does now. BH
Don't dismiss head-to-toe print
Not for Beyonce any of that "Oh, this old thing?" nonsense. Where the rest of us pack linen sundresses and cotton-voile cover-ups, her holiday looks involve strategy, styling and a major dose of confidence. I wish I could get away with posing on my balcony in head-to-toe zebra-print Dolce & Gabbana... If you're honest, don't you? EC
Try a colourful pastel look
Domincan model Lineisy Montero wearing uber cool New York label Seis Marjan to this years' CFDA Awards in June is the first look that sprung to mind when I was asked to choose my favourite of the summer.
Dutch designer Sander Lak, who made his New York Fashion Week debut in February 2016, is at the helm of the relatively new brand, and has rapidly created a name for himself through his experimental approach to colour and shape. And this dress from his autumn/winter '18 collection is indicative of why.
A layer of peach chiffon gives an immaculately cut powder blue shift dress an other-worldy feel, while Lineisy's bold red lip and blush accessories are the icing on top of a sweet-but-not-saccahrine cake. OBS
The fashion editors' guide to dressing for work in the heatwave
Brighten up your workwear with colourful accents
The biggest dressing dilemma of the year is always what to wear for the sweaty commute and an air-conditioned office that is work-appropriate. Look to the fabulous Tracee Ellis Ross who has providing me with enviable summer inspiration all season.
Note that her printed blouse and wide-leg trouser combination is a typical look in our workwear roster, but that her bright lip, fun shoes and mismatched earrings make it a chic summer-ready ensemble. KT
Sharp tailoring keeps your summer look formal
This outfit is all about context. Zoom out, and you'd note that Madam Macron is amongst a sea of world leaders wives all dressed in politely feminine lace frocks. And then she's rocked up looking like she's all prepped for a Helmut Newton shoot. J'adore! Take note by choosing tailoring over prettiness for your next summer party. BH

Cali-girl dresses should be top of your must-haves list
Okay, yes, this is as much about her incredible interior decor as her outfits. But the point is: I want Mandy Moore's life. The kind of life that comes with a custom-poured terrazzo floor, effortless-looking wavy hair and a seemingly endless supply of boho-Cali-girl dresses. EC
