'Daisy Jones & The Six' Is Here! Get All the Details on the Rock 'n' Roll Drama
Riley Kough brings the LA music scene of the ‘70s to life in vivid detail.
Prime Video is taking us back to the Los Angeles music scene of the ‘70s, filled with sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, with the premiere of the highly anticipated 10-episode miniseries based on the fictional memoir, Daisy Jones & The Six, by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Riley Keough, who has quite the rock ‘n’ roll pedigree with Elvis Presley as her grandfather and Lisa Maria Presley as her mother, will take on the title role and perform her own songs.
“I read the book, and I felt like, ‘This story is going to bring people happiness and joy. This is going to take people out of their lives for a minute,’” Keough told Elle. “It's just a fun, fun, fun show. Of course, [Daisy]'s got addiction issues, and there's sadness and heartbreak, but she's also this powerful, incredible woman who doesn't really give a s--t about anything.
"When you play these characters, it's liberating, especially when you're playing a liberated woman. You do manifest that. You open up to it in the way you carry yourself. I've had that a lot playing sex workers. They're liberated and they portray this confidence, and it comes into your universe a little bit.”
When does Daisy Jones & The Six come out?

What do we know about the characters in Daisy Jones & the Six?
Daisy Jones: Daisy is the classic poor-little-rich girl, who, ignored by her selfish parents, builds a life of her own as a singer-songwriter who comes of age and rises to rock superstardom against the backdrop of the 1970s L.A. music scene.
Billy Dunne: It was Billy’s grand vision for the band—once he deigned to join it— that brought the guys to Los Angeles even before they met Daisy. But once she joins, it complicates Billy’s life, even as it brings the band to heights the frontman hadn’t even imagined.
Camila Alvarez Dunne: Billy’s girlfriend and later wife Camila followed the charismatic frontman from their hometown of Pittsburgh to Los Angeles, forsaking her own family, in the pursuit of success for the band. Once there, though, she discovers her own potential.
Graham Dunne: Graham is The Six’s guitarist and Billy’s little brother, whose initial idea it was to form the band, to get girls. He never envisioned how far they would go.
Karen Sirko: Karen is The Six’s keyboardist. A true original and one of the first women in the overwhelmingly male world of rock 'n' roll.
Eddie Roundtree: Eddie is the fiery bassist of The Six who can’t seem to shake the chip on his shoulder that comes from being in someone else’s band.
Warren Rojas: Warren is the member of The Six, who tries to hold things together. Fun-loving, but grounded, the drummer enjoys the ride to fame, but never loses sight of his small-town roots.
Simone Jackson: Daisy’s closest friend and fellow musician who unexpectedly finds herself at the forefront of the underground disco scene of the mid-‘70s.
Teddy Price: Every hit band needs a successful record producer, and Teddy Price is known for bringing out the best in his artists. Always the coolest guy in the room, Teddy is as much a father figure to his young musicians as he is a creative genius.
Rod Reyes: It was Rod who encouraged the Dunne Brothers to move from Pittsburgh to L.A. to find success, which they did. It then becomes his job to try to keep the personal conflicts of the band from breaking them apart.

Singer-songwriter Blake Mills worked on creating the sound for the band. Phoebe Bridgers is also helping with the music.

We did six months of training for our instruments, so it was also an opportunity to spend three hours a day learning the piano.”
Atlantic Records also released the single "Honeycomb" as a tease for the upcoming album.
