Flamin' Hot Cheetos, as we know, can be a bit difficult to eat-they're just so spicy! Rapper Lil Xan found out just how tough the hot chips can be on one's digestive system. Monday night he went to the hospital because of Flamin' Hots.

The 22-year-old posted an Instagram with a video explaining what happened. The caption says, "Just wanna let everyone know that I'm good, healthier then I've ever been and ready to kick of my third Tour in NY ina couple days ! Also be careful, Hot Cheetos are one hell of a drug aha ! (broken heart emoji) love you all!"

In the video, you can see what appears to be a hospital bracelet, and Lil Xan says he wants to let everyone know that he went to the hospital-not due to any drugs, he clarifies. "I guess I ate too many Hot Cheetos, and it ripped something in my stomach open," Lil Xan says, laughing a bit. He concludes by assuring fans, "we good."

Lil Xan isn't the first to have a Flamin' Hot Cheeto-induced stomach issue. In July, Rene Craighead told WREG that she believed her daughter's love for Takis and Hot Cheetos led to her gallbladder failure. Dr. Cary Cavender, a gastroenterologist, told WREG there are several factors that contribute to gallbladder failure, and eating those chips may have contributed. "We probably see around 100 kids a month [with similar chip-related stomach issues], easily"

According to WebMD, the kids come to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital with complaints of "agonizing stomach pain, and sometimes blood-red vomiting and what often looks like slimy, blood-streaked stool." WebMD reports that doctors say the red is from food coloring in the chips.

The acidity in the chips contributes to the stomach pain, according to Dr. Martha Rivera, a pediatrician at Adventist Health in downtown Los Angeles. When she tested the acidity, she found that the pH of the chips was 3. A normal gut pH is about 5, meaning that the chips are more acidic than "the gut's natural environment."

Both Dr. Cavender and Dr. Rivera say the stomach pain caused by the chips can be treated with antacids, per WebMD.

So, my friends, Flamin' Hot Cheetos (as with all things wonderful) should be enjoyed in moderation!
