Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard Reveals Major Change for Kids This School Year
Florida Georgia Line member Tyler Hubbard and his wife Hayley have a new challenge on their plate this fall, as the two announced that they would be homeschooling their children, taking them out of the Montessori school they previously attended.
The husband and wife, who share a daughter named Olivia, 6, and two sons named Luca, 5, and Atlas, 3, revealed the exciting news to Country Now and talked a bit about what the important decision meant to the family.
“I feel like even just our headspace has already shifted knowing that we’re going to be homeschooling, like the way that we try to teach," Hubbard explained. "But then I was thinking about it, as parents, you do homeschool your kids, you teach them day in and day out."
The country music star went on, "So I think it’s going to be magnified a bit and multiplied, but we don’t necessarily need to send our kids to school for eight hours a day to let someone else teach them whatever they’re going to teach.”
Hubbard noted that his kids are "really excited" about schooling and shared how he thought the decision would also be beneficial for himself and Hayley as parents: "I think it also is kind of just a season where Hayley and I have been growing a lot as parents and...really being accountable for how you raise your kids and what you’re teaching them.”
The "Cruise" singer admitted that the couple would have to figure some things out as they go along, telling the publication, "We won’t have it perfect at the beginning for sure, but we’re going to try it and see how it goes. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun."
As Hubbard is actively touring, the decision to homeschool their children will also likely make it easier for the family to stay together on the road as he continues to travel to perform his music.
