Following Demi Lovato's overdose, Britney Spears's team is banning alcohol backstage
Following Demi Lovatos alleged overdose, and her upcoming live dates being canceled, Britney Spears’s team has banned alcohol from being served backstage at her concerts, according to Page Six.
Britney Spears recently finished her residency in Las Vegas and is currently performing her “Piece of Me” tour in the United States and will soon bring it to the U.K.
A source at Radio City Music Hall in New York City told Page Six, “Britney’s team set strict guidelines that no alcohol at all could be served backstage, because they want to keep it away from her, and also many of her dancers are underage.”
The source went on to say that this is the policy throughout her tour, which ends on Oct 21, 2018.
According to Straight Shuter, Spears would allegedly have “advance people” who would remove alcohol from any hotel room that the pop superstar stayed in, and that her team would not allow “shady characters” near her.
“Britney is doing great, and every effort will be made to make sure that doesn’t change. Before the tour starts, her advance people will make sure that alcohol is removed from every hotel where she stays and access to the singer will be limited to ensure no shady characters get anywhere near her,” the source said. “The cast and crew on her tour can expect there will be lots of rules. In addition to the confidentiality clauses, backup dancers will be banned from consuming alcohol and drugs, and will even be subjected to random testing.”
According to Page Six, Spears is “healthy” and “celebrated another year of sobriety” last year.
