Football team jumps out of their bus to help stranded motorist: 'Glad to see the younger generation has some hope'
That’s one way to warm up before a game.
A few members of the Douglas MacArthur Junior High School football team in Jonesboro, Ark., hopped out of their bus on the way to the annual Storm Bowl to help a stranded motorist in the rain. Fortunately, the kind gesture was captured on video.
Teamwork, as they say, makes the dream work.
Aaron Metcalf, who posted the video on Facebook, wrote, “Glad to see the younger generation has some hope. … Good job, jhs coaches are obviously doing something right.”
While the team lost 15-13 against Annie Camp Junior High School, plenty of people on social media are celebrating their act of kindness.
“This is what the world needs more of,” one person commented. “This is awesome!!” another wrote.
In the lead-up to the annual Storm Bowl, students were encouraged to show their school spirit through a week of theme days: Meme Monday, Dynamic Duo Day, Wear Your Music Style, and Sweatpant Swagger.
The coach of the Douglas MacArthur Junior High School football team, Jim Hodges, did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s requests for comment. But this video surely inspired lots of school spirit and pride in the young students.
