‘Fope’ For The Future? B&B’s Tanner Novlan Speaks Out on Hope and Finn
The Bold and the Beautiful knows how to mix and match characters together quite well. Finn and Hope, played by Tanner Novlan and Annika Noelle, have been sharing screen time together, but their dynamic is not necessarily headed in a romantic direction. Novlan chatted with Soap Hub about the couple’s friendship and what it means to the good doctor.
Hope For Finn’s Future
Understandably, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) isn’t on board with her husband these days regarding his feelings for his late mother, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown). On paper, Steffy may understand that Finn is conflicted over his psychotic birth mom’s death but that doesn’t mean she’s going to go with him to a memorial service for her.
Fortunately, Finn has a friend in Hope (Annika Noelle), who is known for her capacity to forgive. The two characters have been sharing some screen time together, but Novlan doesn’t see them necessarily having a romantic future.
“I think she’s pretty tied up with [her feelings for] Thomas right now,” Novlan tells Soap Hub. He is glad that Finn has a friend. “It’s very nice for someone to be there for Finn. These are conversations that he’d love to have with his wife, but it was nice to have Hope to unpack things with.”
One thing’s for sure — Finn’s not going to find a sympathetic ear in his father-in-law Ridge (Thorsten Kaye). “Ridge made it clear he was not interested in having those conversations,” Novlan says about Finn expressing his feelings about his late (“late?”) mom. (No doubt, Ridge can’t get past not only all of Sheila’s wicked ways, but he must be especially glad she’s gone as he and Bill (Don Diamont) failed to ensure Sheila went to jail for murder last year.)
Fortunately, Hope lent some sympathy to her doctor pal. “It was nice having someone softer to speak to,” Novlan says. “He needed someone to help him process what has been going on.”
