Former ‘Bachelor' Nick Viall Lands Guest Role in Season 2 of ‘Speechless'

Updated

Get ready, Bachelor Nation. In the words of Chris Harrison, Nick Viall is making his most dramatic career move to date with a guest-starring role in Speechless.

Viall will appear opposite Minnie Driver in the second season of the hit series about a boy with cerebral palsy. ABC announced the exciting news in a press release yesterday and revealed—much to our surprise—that Viall won’t be portraying himself. He will, however, take on his very first scripted character, a wannabe actor dubbed Tyson.

The press release states, “Nick will play a hunky B-movie actor who takes his craft way too seriously. After befriending JJ (Micah Fowler) on a set, Tyson summons all his powers for the performance of a lifetime, deceiving Maya (Driver) and Jimmy (John Ross Bowie) to get JJ out of hot water.”

Viall is most recognized for his appearances on seasons 10 and 11 of The Bachelorette, as well as season 21 of The Bachelor. He and his ex-fiancée, Vanessa Grimaldi, called off their engagement in August of this year.

While the network has yet to announce the specific premiere date, Viall’s “acting” debut is set to take place in November 2017.
