Former Disney World worker charged with breaking into employee locker room and stealing credit cards, cash
A former Walt Disney World Typhoon Lagoon Water Park worker has been charged after she allegedly snuck in the employee locker room to steal cash, credit cards, and other items from staff.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Shariel Agosto, 28, an ex-employee of Typhoon Lagoon in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., who reportedly works for a third-party vendor at Disney Springs, managed to avoid security guards and gain access to the employee locker room. There, she reportedly stole cash and credit cards from her former coworkers, and used the funds to buy gas for her car and food at a restaurant.
According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department arrest affidavit obtained by the Orlando Sentinel, she also attempted to purchase approximately $250 worth of alcohol.
Agosto was arrested on August 1st, the same day that a 19-year-old Disney employee reported that her wallet, containing around $30 in cash, credit cards, and gift cards had been stolen. She faces charges of unlawful possession of a stolen credit card, petit theft, and fraudulent use of credit cards. Agosto will be represented by an Orange County public defender.
Walt Disney World and the Orange County Sheriff's Department did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s requests for comment.
