Former ‘NCIS’ Star Pauley Perrette Shared a Scary Selfie From the Emergency Room
Former NCIS star Pauley Perrette worried fans with a bloody selfie from a hospital.
She assured her followers she's fine, but people were still concerned about the level of care she received.
Although Pauley Perrette is no longer part of the NCIS cast, the former star of the crime drama is still very connected to her fans through social media. Whether she's revealing her anti-aging secrets or sharing childhood memories, Pauley is constantly tweeting updates about her life after the show. Recently, the actress posted a scary photo that had her followers very worried.
Earlier this month, Pauley shared a selfie of herself in the emergency room. The 50-year-old was dressed in a hospital gown and posing with a "rock on" hand gesture, while an IV stuck out of her other arm.
"Well this was my night! No worries, clean bill of health. Just a chance to wear a beautiful gown!" she joked in the caption.

Other than reassuring fans that she's fine, Pauley did not offer any further explanation for her unexpected hospital visit. Hundreds of people replied to the post with well-wishes for the NCIS alum-but others were worried about the blood surrounding the site of her IV needle.
One person explained why they were "very concerned" about the way the IV was put in her arm.
"It's not the location. It's the fact it's not been properly secured, wrong dressing used and it's not been dated," they tweeted. "The fact it's not been [secured] is causing the bleeding around it, and risk of it damaging surrounding skin, and a huge infection risk."

Others claiming to be nurses echoed that concern, while also trying to guess what was wrong: "Looks like the IV nurse butchered your line placement! Were you dehydrated? That's my guess."

Regardless of why Pauley was in the hospital (and whether or not her IV was administered correctly), she has been active on social media in the days since and seems to be fine. Let's hope the next time we see her in a "beautiful gown" is on a red carpet!
