Fourth of July events on the Gulf Coast

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Independence Day is on Thursday, and there are festivities all along the Gulf Coast.

Here are some events scheduled for the Fourth of July across the WKRG News 5 viewing area.

We will update this list as we learn about more events.

Biloxi

The annual fireworks spectacular over the Mississippi Sound is on Thursday, July 4. The show, hosted by the Boom Boom Committee, will begin at 9 p.m. with fireworks fired from a barge near Deer Island. The best viewing will be between the Biloxi Lighthouse and the Biloxi Bay Bridge. The annual show is hosted on July 4 each year, and this year, it is sponsored by the City of Biloxi and the Harrison County Board of Supervisors.

Creola

The City of Creola’s Fourth of July Celebration will be held Thursday, July 4, 2024, at 9 p.m., with free food and activities beginning at 5 p.m. at Creola City Park. Fireworks begin at 9.

Crestview

Crestview’s Fourth of July celebration includes fireworks starting at 9 p.m. at Twin Hills Park.

Daphne

Celebrate Independence Day in Daphne with a fireworks show set to patriotic music! The event is set for Thursday, July 4, 2024, 9 p.m., at Al Trione Sports Complex.

Destin

The City of Destin will host a fireworks show on Thursday at 9 p.m. at the Destin Harbor.

Fairhope

The City of Fairhope’s Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks display is set for 7:30-10:30 p.m. July 4 at Henry George Park and the Fairhope Pier.

The Baldwin Pops Band Independence Day Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Henry George Park. Patriotic music will be played before and during the fireworks display.

The Fairhope fireworks display will begin at approximately 9 p.m.

The north end of Fairhope Municipal Park will be open throughout the day and remain open until no parking is available.

The south end of the beachfront park and Knoll Park will be available to spectators.

Limited handicap parking will be available near the fountain.

This is an alcohol-free event, and no personal fireworks are permitted.

Fort Walton Beach

The City of Fort Walton Beach’s fireworks show is set for Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at the Fort Walton Beach Landing. The fireworks show begins at 8:45 p.m. Live music and food vendors are planned. Free admission.

Gulf Shores

Gulf Shores’ Fourth of July Fireworks Show starts at 9 p.m. at Gulf States Park Pier.

Lucedale

The City of Lucedale’s annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show is Friday, July 5. The show begins at dusk, approximately 9 p.m., according to the city’s Facebook page.

Milton

Mobile

The City of Mobile’s Independence Day Extravaganza starts at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, at USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park.

Attendees can expect live music performances from Symone French and The Trouille Troupe, and fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.

Orange Beach (The Wharf)

The Fourth of July Annual Street Party is returning to Orange Beach this year.

Festivities begin at 5 p.m., and the national anthem will be played at 8:45 p.m. Attendees can watch fireworks and a SPECTRA Laser Light Experience from Main Street.

Attendees can partake in festivities such as the bubble truck, a surfboard simulator, bounce house, face painting, camel rides, a patriotic challenge obstacle course, a rock wall and a reptile bus.

There will be special appearances by Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam!

Pensacola

The City of Pensacola is partnering with Escambia County for July 4.

The Independence Day celebration will consist of a free concert, a fireworks show and food trucks.

The Pensacola Symphony will perform “Symphony Sparks & Stars” at 7:30 p.m. at the amphitheater behind Blue Wahoos Stadium.

Food trucks will serve food from 4-9 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.

“Pensacola’s Grandest Fireworks Display” will start a 9 p.m.

Prichard

The City of Prichard’s Independence Day celebration will kick off at 6 p.m. Thursday at Highpoint Park.

Attendees can expect a splash pad and play corner for kids, food trucks and a live DJ. A fireworks show is scheduled for 9 p.m.

Santa Rosa County, Florida

The City of Milton is partnering with the Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce for Independence Day this year.

Locals can head over to Rivervest 2024, which begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday, at Jernigan’s Landing.

Attendees can expect a firecracker bike show, a freedom car show, a vendor market, The Great Milltown Duck Race and it will all be capped off with a fireworks display at 9 p.m.
