Fox News host: ‘No other modern first lady has been treated' as badly as Melania Trump. The internet begs to differ.
Fox News host Howard Kurtz stirred up an online debate on Thursday evening after suggesting that Melania Trump has received the worst treatment of any modern first lady.

“Melania is subjected to a particularly brutal kind of treatment and mockery. Whether it’s Jimmy Kimmel making fun of her accent to all this media chatter about well, why didn’t she go on this trip with her husband and did she swat his hand away?” Kurtz said during his appearance on the Ingraham Angle. “She’s got a thick skin, but no other modern first lady has been treated like this.”
People on Twitter, however, beg to differ.
The internet rallied against Kurtz’s comments by citing examples when former first lady Michelle Obama was harshly criticized for her appearance, called a man and even compared to an ape — by Fox reporters, no less. As for one of Obama’s predecessors, Hillary Clinton, she was subjected to scrutiny at the hands of Kurtz in 1998.

Kurtz came to his defense on Twitter and conceded that Obama received a host of harassment in the form of racial slurs. However, he maintains that it wasn’t done by the “mainstream media.”
