Frank Ocean in Talks to Direct His First-Ever Feature Film With A24
According to a report from Discussing Film, Frank Ocean is currently in talks with A24 and 2AM to write and direct his first-ever feature film. Frank Ocean has worked with A24 in the past, writing the foreword for Barry Jenkins' Moonlight and providing soundtracks for Trey Shelts' 2019 American drama film Waves.
While his upcoming film will be his official directorial debut, Ocean has expressed a love for filmmaking in the past with his 2016 visual album Endless, which he wrote and directed. Frank Ocean is reportedly working closely with young London-based production company 2AM for the film, a young independent venture that's backed and distributed by A24.
So far no official details have been revealed, although sources have said that Frank Ocean is eyeing New Mexico as a potential location to film and the project is currently being referred to internally as "Philly."
