Free summer meals offered to eligible children by Clarksville Parks and Recreation

Update: An earlier version of this story listed Sango and East Montgomery as a stop. They have been removed because they "do not meet the income guidelines for the program," according to Ryan Sample, Clarksville Parks and Recreation Marketing Coordinator.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation is offering free meals to eligible children as part of the Summer Food Service Program.

Clarksville-Montgomery County students who receive free or reduced meals during the school year will be able to receive a free lunch and snack from June 3 to July 12, with the exception of Juneteenth, June 19 and Independence Day, July 4 for the observation of the holidays.

There are currently 8 locations across the county, each estimated to serve 100 meals.

Children who are part of households that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly food stamps) benefits or benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) are automatically eligible to receive free meals.
