Friendly exes Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer reunite on red carpet
The love is strong between Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer.
The couple parted ways romantically over a year ago, but that didn’t stop them from coupling up on Thursday for a photo op. The Great Gatsby and Seabiscuit actor, 42, supported the mother of his two children at the Los Angeles launch party for her jewelry collaboration with Jenna Dewan Tatum, benefitting the charity Baby2Baby.
Although they posed with their arms around each other — much as they did back in their married days — they had separated, after nine years of marriage, in October 2016. However, it’s unclear whether the divorce was ever finalized, and a rep for Maguire has not yet responded to Yahoo Lifestyle’s inquiry about their current relationship status.
What we do know is that they’ve been friendly since their split. At the time they announced their breakup, People magazine reported that they had been living “separate lives” for some time with “different interests.” In June, Meyer showed off her new single-mom digs. However, the parents of Ruby, 10, and Otis, 8, have been photographed together over the last year, including when they celebrated Father’s Day together in May. A month later, they were snapped together with their kids in New York — along with Maguire pal Leonardo DiCaprio.
If they are strictly friendly exes, that’s the cool thing to do in Hollywood. Conscious uncoupler Gwyneth Paltrow and her new fiancé, Brad Falchuk, hang out with her ex-husband, Chris Martin.
