The kitchen sink is often treated like a trash can when you’re in the middle of cooking or baking -- so it could use a good scrub now and then!

What’s the trick to getting the job done when it comes to a stainless steel sink? A grapefruit (or a lemon), kitchen expert Pamela Salzman says!

Simply cut a grapefruit in half and sprinkle kosher salt on the cut side -- and use the grapefruit itself as your sponge. (It smells good, too!)

What's more is that you can also use a salted grapefruit to clean your silver and cutting board.
