Fun in the sun: Castaway Cove celebrates 20th anniversary
It was a typical hot and sunny summer day on Friday as guests came out to Castaway Cove Waterpark to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
"During the winter time, a company that manages the park, we all got together and let them know that this is the twentieth year," Steve Vaughn, Castaway Cove Waterpark general manager, said.
A day was planned where everyone, whether they're a guest or an employee who has grown up going to the park, could come out and celebrate.
The gates opened at 11 a.m. to an already waiting crowd. Tickets were sold at a reduced price of $20 per person compared to the usual $24 or $29 on weekends.
Guests could enjoy food, drinks, games, a gift shop, music and of course the waterpark attractions.
"What I hear all the time, everybody likes the wave pool and the lazy river — where they can just float and enjoy the day," Vaughn said.
Although the park hosted a day for its 20th anniversary celebration, Vaughn says that the park will celebrate all season long and hopes everyone will come out to see them.
